Here! Queer! Cosmic!
Time to reclaim our queer sacred roles! Dagara wisdom teacher Malidoma Some called the religious persecution of queer people, “a terrible harm done to an energy that could save the world.”
Throughout time and across the planet, same sex oriented and gender-variant people have a history of association with the spiritual realms. The Two-Spirits of Native American tribes are today reclaiming their roles as healers, ritual workers, spirit channels and are an example for queers from every culture.
Dig into the history and we are there – as shamans, goddess priests, witches. The Dagara people of West Africa called us Gatekeepers to Spirit.
Shokti will share examples of our queer magical past and the story of the modern exploration of our queer cosmic nature in the global Radical Faerie community.

The Mother Goddess and Me - Queer Spirit and the Sacred Mother Archetype
We bring our critical, inclusive, pagan, queer, and loving activism to the myth-space to address 'mother' as an idea, an ideal, a lived reality and a falsity through shared words, and acts of mutual spiritual recognition.
We consider these myths as self-fulfilling prophecies, as aspirational goals, as forms of representation and, in some cases, as impossibilities.
But most of all we aim to explore these myths, fables and archetypes from an insider/outsider perspective in relation to the reclamation of the relationship with the Mother Goddess through Queer spirituality.
