John [Programme and Exploration Space]

John has been involved with Queer Spirit since 2023, and his roles include workshop programming, the production of the printed programme for the festival, running workshops, and from 2026 organising the QS Exploration Space.

His background is in graphic design and publishing, humanistic group therapy, green politics and activism, and researching the history of erotic art, especially from the queer perspective – he curates the honesterotica website, the world’s largest resource for erotic art and illustration.

John has been exploring ethical relationship non-exclusivity for more than four decades, as a writer and group leader as well as in his own life. His book Getting Closer: Sex, Love and Common Sense discussed much of what later became called polyamory. He’s a member of the international Polyamory Leadership Network, and a regular presenter at polyamory gatherings.
