Honesty [Global Majority Co-lead]

I first arrived at Queer Spirit in 2023 as Xhosa Cole, BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year, over achieving, youngest brother, whose success came at the expense of being connected to queer community. QS was my first trust fall into a community that reflected my experiences; a safer playground of learning, exploration and fun.

As a performer, I’ve travelled the world and been exposed to many different communities and music. These experiences have shaped me into the performer and musician I am today. Queer connections and experiences, many sparked by Queer Spirit, are continuing to shape me into Honesty.

The Global Majority community is at the heart of all communities in a Post-Colonial Britain. We are the bedrock on which the west has stood. As Global Majority Lead, I’m taking on the mantle of the work that Queer Spirit has been doing to acknowledge, honour, love, respect and create space for our siblings and lovers from all over the world and her mamy diasporas
