Be a part of the 2026 festival

We have plenty of opportunities to trade your time for a ticket, please read through the following information to see what resonates with you:

Jump to Festival worker roles...

* Decor / Artisans

Would you love to create an Art installation at the festival? Perhaps you love building gateways and arches or decorating trees?  If so you may be able to help us turn the magical festival site in to something even more amazing!

  • This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

* Groups, activists

Part of what Queer Spirit is about is in raising awareness and bringing about change in the world.  If there is something you are passionate about in the LGBTQI+ / Queer world then do get in touch with us to talk about being a part of our campaigns area at the festival.

* Performers, bands, comedy, cabaret, DJ's

Please read the following before applying –  it’s not the same as last year!

Queer Spirit is entirely volunteer-run, and has no budget to pay performers. If you make your living from performing, and you’re not interested in participating in what else QS has to offer, then this is probably not the festival for you.  QS is very different from mainstream music festivals and Pride events, and we prefer that performers attend the whole festival as far as possible. Please see other areas of the website to know what an extraordinary event it is.

Following feedback from and consideration from previous festivals, we may have to be more selective than before and so invite you in the first instance to submit an expression of interest.

We especially welcome applications from emerging/up-and-coming performers, walkabout and acoustic performers, and DJs, all of whom must be prepared to perform in exchange for one festival ticket (including camping).

* Workshop facilitators, sacred magicians, ritual creators

A festival wouldn't be a festival without lots of things to do and so we are sending out a call to all that love to hold spaces, run workshops, offer rituals etc.

* Catering

We have spaces for a small number of caterers serving vegetarian/vegan food.

* Traders

We have some space for traders during the festival along with market day only spaces.

* Healers, therapists

The Healing Area

The healing area last year was a great success so we are planning a bigger, better one this year! It will be a quiet space with a workshop area, individual therapists offering a range of treatments and a place to retreat to when you need time out or space for reflection.

Healing area information

The Healing Area workshop space:

We will have a regular daily program plus some variable afternoon offerings. All workshops will be free.

Healing Area Workshops Daily Program

  • Meditation: 8 am till 9 am
  • Variable offerings throughout the day, information tent will have the list
  • Sharing circle: 10:00 am till 11:30am
  • 12 step meeting: 6 pm onwards.

We are looking for workshop leaders and space holders for this space (this is run separately from the main workshops which have their own application forms etc). We will offer a free ticket to a meditation teacher, holder of the 12 step space and holder of the sharing circle. You will need to apply in advance and agree to run your workshop/space holding every day for all days (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Please note this does not include crew food you will need to bring your own.

In addition to the 3 core workshops we are also keen to have other healing area workshops. If you have something you would love to share at the festival that is related to healing please fill in the online application form.

Therapists - Healing Dome

We know our community includes many amazing therapists and we would like to invite you to offer your skills at Queer Spirit.

Dedicated therapists

Therapists that wish to come and make this the focus of their festival. We will expect you to bring your own structure and all the equipment that you need to work. You will have a pitch in the healing area and can put a notice board and manage your own bookings.

We are planning to have 3/4 massage therapists and 1/2 other offerings - a total of 6 therapists.

You will need to buy a ticket and donate 10% of your takings at the end of the festival.

Before the Festival

  1. Please register by completing the registration form and supply:
    1. A photo for the website.
    2. Description of the treatments (including prices) that you wish to offer to be put on the website.
    3. Information on your structure.
    4. Your insurance documents, these will be held by the organisers in the production office for the duration of the festival.
  2. Arrange a ticket for the festival, being accepted as a therapist does NOT grant you access to the festival.

At The Festival:

  1. Arrive on Wednesday and be setup and ready to start work Thursday afternoon.
  2. We will have a circle to open the space at noon on Thursday and a closing circle on Sunday later afternoon.
  3. We will expect you to offer therapies for at least 5 hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Stewards

As stewards we are the eyes and ears of the festival. This is a highly rewarding and interesting role that may have us working all over the festival site.
Armed with a good knowledge of what’s on and where everything is onsite we are visible to the public and ready to answer any questions and give directions as may be necessary. We may also be tasked with escalating any issues to the relevant personnel that may arise in terms of health and safety as we are often a first point of call for the public.
We will be required to volunteer  3 x 6 hr shifts of our time over the festival period. In return for our service we get free entry and a meal for each shift will be provided.
Stewards are required to arrive before midday on the day before the festival opens to the public, so that some basic training can be given.

Come join Team Stewards and let’s help give them the time of their lives. Peter Pan, Steward Co-creator,  email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
